Our work

Heartwood's work covers a range of spaces, but all brought to fruition with the passion and excitement we aim to bring to all our projects. From the very small Sand Pit and Water Play Tray installation, to the SEN Sensory Space or the Giant Play Tower, we work to bring the same energy to each installation.

Play Areas

From simple swing sets, trim trails, climbers, and play towers to enormous adventure playgrounds, we work to get kids active and growing, both physically and in self-confidence

Early Years Spaces

Early Years spaces that provide open-ended, imaginative, messy, child led opportunities to explore through play

Sensory Garden Spaces

Imagination and Sensory Play is increasingly used not just to cater for SEND pupils, but all students give a place where creativity and sensory stimulation come to life

Outside Classrooms

Whether a simple shelter, an open gazebo or sizeably barn style building, we have constructed hundreds of outdoor classrooms that offer dynamic learning spaces and give a multitude of uses to the whole school.

Inclusive Play

Providing opportunities and space to play inclusively it not just about making sure you've thought about wheel chair access, but involves a wide thought process that creates inclusive environments for children to play and learn in together, with mixed ages and varying abilities.
